“For you know the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ, that though he was rich, yet for your sake he became poor, so that you by his poverty might become rich.” 2 Corinthians 8:9.
In the Old Testament, God’s people were called to tithe (10%) of their material resources to God. When we come to the New Testament, there’s greater grace for believers, so we are called not just to give, but to be joyful, generous, and sacrificial in giving (perhaps even more than 10%!). As believers, what we do with our money shows what we are committed to. Our God is a generous God, and he has not been sparing to us, but generous (Romans 8:32). We can be generous then, giving cheerfully and gratefully, all for Jesus (2 Corinthians 9:7).
As a church, we have needs, obligations, and opportunities for which we want to be responsible. Would you consider giving to our work? By partnering with us financially, you will help Grace and Peace Community Church accomplish the Holy Spirit’s mission to show and tell the good news of Jesus to our city, nation and world (Acts 1:8).
Also, as you go through your week, please consider using the Amazon Associates link below to make all of your daily purchases to further support Grace and Peace. From diapers to TVs we see a percentage of that come back to support the movement of the Gospel here in South Philly. It’s a simple, practical way you can financially partner with us in addition to your general tithes and offerings.
